Damian has been turning for a several years now and found a passion for turning wands but has been woodworking for over a decade. Charlie has always been creative but recently found a passion for working with clay and creating all things gnomish and fairy with this wonderful medium. We decided to turn this passion into a business, and Charlie set up what is now ‘Occasional Turnings’ in 2019. This spirred us to move from our garden shed to a workshop, which has given us a larger dedicated space for all of our crafting.
Our aim from the start has always been to create and sell hand crafted goods that have been inspired by nature with a touch of magic about them. We currently make turned and hand carved wands, incense holders and tea-lights, mushrooms (turned and clay), fairy houses, doors, gnomes from clay and lots more.
We can also take commissions for bespoke items, for example a special gift or something larger. Past commissions have include a table top made from Cherry, replacement garden gate, yarn bowls, GO! Bowls, and 18″ Ash Wand and many more.
We often appear at local craft events and Festivals such as the Fairy Fair hosted in the beautiful county of Norfolk and lately slightly further afield in Ely, Cambridge and further afield!
If you see us at as event, come to chat with us – we’d love to see you there 🙂
Peace and blessings,
Charlie and Damian
